As a result of the formation provided by this program, students are expected to acquire the academic skills needed to conduct research projects autonomously.
Thus, when students complete the International PhD in Social Welfare, they will have developed:
- A spirit of inquiry and understanding of social welfare problems with an eye to aiding those who suffer their negative effects.
- The ability to generate new interpretations or alternative explanations of the issues that are the object of social welfare studies.
- The theoretical and methodological capacity to formulate, direct, conduct, and evaluate social research projects at a level of academic excellence.
- Critical and reflective skills for developing multidisciplinary and multi-sectorial projects, in both an academic setting and in the professional fields or the public sector.
- The ability to generate useful information for decision-making in social welfare processes, programs, systems, policies, or any related field, according to the lines of research offered in the program.
- An attitude of innovation and the search for alternative solutions to problems arising from the lack of social welfare.
