PROFESSIONAL AGREEMENTS
COLOMBIAN COUNCIL FOR SUSTAINABLE CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS (CCCS), which accredits us as a common Member of the CCCS in category D: "Educational and research institutions".
CENTRO AGUA. Aimed at promoting comprehensive water management initiatives, including the exchange of experiences, training and projects, among other activities.
UNESCO CHAIR AGREEMENTS
The Department of Habitat and Urban Development hosts the UNESCO-ITESO Chair on Habitat Management and Socially Sustainable Development, a space for theoretical-practical dialogue within the university with the main goals of:
-Improving the quality of life in built space and increasing the well-being of the inhabitants by facilitating their access to essential goods and services.
-Improving the quality of professionals by implementing new pedagogical and methodological approaches to university education aimed at proposing better urban planning and design solutions.
-Applying and experimenting with alternative approaches to the formation of city planning professionals, in order to train them to be capable of proposing comprehensive, interdisciplinary, multi-sector and democratic solutions, i.e., "socially sustainable solutions."
-Consolidating the University as a social actor for change, involving scientific debate as an intermediary in the search for solutions to problems that relate to the social management of habitats.
-Generating new teaching and research programs that influence the most relevant social and spatial issues of our context.
Disseminating the knowledge produced and promoting its application within academic programs at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
UNESCO CHAIR ON EARTHEN ARCHITECTURE, CONSTRUCTION CULTURES AND SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT AND ITS UNITWIN NETWORK
Through our Sustainability programs we belong to the UNESCO Chair on Earthen Architecture, Construction Cultures and Sustainable Development and its UNITWIN network, which was created on October 9, 1998 and is coordinated by the International Center for Earthen Architecture (CRATerre-ENSAG), of the National School of Architecture of Grenoble, France. The Chair consists of 40 partners from 23 different countries, and focuses on the relationship between higher education, professional formation, fundamental and applied research, information, documentation and the environment, human settlements and habitat; earth as a material and ecological materials; environment and heritage
UNESCO CHAIR ON BIOSPHERE RESERVES AND NATURAL AND MIXED WORLD HERITAGE SITES
In addition, we have signed cooperation agreements with the UNESCO Chair on Biosphere Reserves and Natural and Mixed World Heritage Sites of UCI Costa Rica, which was active until 2014 and has been renewed for the period of 2016-2020. This Chair focuses on promoting an integrated system of research, training, information and documentation to support the development of capacities, education, landscape management and sustainable development. The Chair will facilitate collaboration among university researchers and professors from other institutions in Costa Rica, Latin America and the rest of the world.
The intention is to strengthen the leadership and management capacities of the local coordinators and actors involved with biosphere reserves and natural and mixed world heritage sites, including the promotion of gender equality within the organizations and projects, and ensuring the participation of young people and women in the decision-making process of ecosystem and UNESCO site management.
