Focus of generation and application of knowledge
They will also be capable of: - Analyzing cases of human rights violations; - Linking different actors in order to generate conflict management strategies and processes; - Understanding the normative framework for human rights, and for alternative and restorative justice; and – Designing, implementing and evaluating policies and programs within public and private organizations and civil society organizations.
The General Line of Research is called: "The configuration of different types of violence and the violation of human rights." This line focuses on the study of institutions, actors and interaction dynamics at different scales (local, national, transnational and/or multi-level) linked to different types of violence, peacebuilding and human rights. The research perspective is interdisciplinary and is intended to have an impact on specific issues, institutions and organizations.
The specific issues addressed in this line of research are the following:
- Institutions, actors and dynamics related to different types of violence;
- Culture of peace and transformation of conflicts;
- Alternative and restorative justice;
- Extrajudicial executions, torture and forced disappearance;
- Victims' rights;
- Gender studies and the rights of women;
- Public policy with a human rights perspective;
- Social protection policies in the field of health;
- Rights of indigenous peoples and the right to territory;
- Armed conflict, criminal violence and human rights;
- Institutions of justice and human rights protection;
- Transnational activism and international human rights bodies;
- Social movements and human rights;
- Human right to water and sanitation;
- Democracy and human rights;
- Corruption and human rights; and
- Human mobility in vulnerable groups.
