Reasons to study this specialization
Studying the Specialization in Supply Chain Management at ITESO is an invitation to join a community of students, alumni, professors and researchers who build, implement and direct strategies applied to the administration and transformation of business operations. The learning project involves developing a critical mindset with a focus on knowing-discerning-acting: students do not only explore frontier knowledge in the sustainable management of operations, supplies, inventory control, finance and costs, international logistics as well as technological innovations; they also apply it, under the guidance of their advisors, and present their findings within the framework of an academically rigorous final degree-qualification project.
The Specialization in Supply Chain Management empowers students to take ownership of their learning project: they become key players in the construction of new ways of understanding and running operations in production and service organizations, with a special focus on the human person as the end and not the means for achieving goals in the organizatons.
Students in the Specialization in Supply Chain Management will develop skills and competencies to drive the digital transformation of business operations and to spearhead strategic change in a complex and uncertain context of global, resilient and sustainable supply chains. They will create a systemic vision of integrated operations and learn to collaboratively diagnose, design, model and direct the efforts of their work teams, facilitating data-based decision-making and achieving efficiency and effectiveness in the supply chain.
The specialization's faculty boasts international quality, and includes both researchers and business consultants and executives with extensive global experience in their areas of expertise, which allows students to develop a holistic, international vision of the supply chain. Different learning methodologies are applied, including the practical and immediate application of knowledge, hands-on experience in technology labs, business simulators, information technology platforms (ERP, data analytics and artificial intelligence) and the case study method created at the Harvard Business School. ITESO researchers and professors develop and facilitate case study sessions about companies created and led by alumni, as well as cases from the worldwide network of Jesuit business schools.
After obtaining your degree in the Specialization in Supply Chain Management, you can continue your formation by revalidating your credits and graduating from ITESO's Master's Degree Program in Business Administration in less time, taking additional courses to complete the program.
In short, the aim of ITESO's Specialization in Supply Chain Management is to form operations directors with a high degree of technical preparation and ethical integrity, aware of the role they play in society and their capacity to be agents of change toward inclusive and sustainable supply chains. If you share this goal, we invite you to take a look at this call for candidates.
