Technological scenarios
While software development along the timeline has been indifferent to platforms, in the Specialization in Embedded Systems we consider all the resources available for optimizing them. The evolution of embedded systems has gone from 8 bits to the multi-core platforms on which they are developed today.
The program has developed several high-impact projects, including articles in peer-reviewed journals, book chapters and a patent in process. Moreover, Freescale Semiconductor de México has a significant group of engineers who develop applications and provide support for design engineers in the area of embedded systems.
The range of technologies they use includes, among others: microprocessors with different features, microcontrollers, DSPs, communication interfaces, sensors, etc. This wide array of technologies and the type of engineering products they develop or support are world-class, meaning that they are developed and tested in the program using methodologically sound procedures. This Specialization seeks to produce synergy between this company's development requirements and our goal of being part of a cluster of embedded system-related resources that will contribute to the development of the region.
Furthermore, Intel's Guadalajara Design Center (GDC) has many years of experience testing and validating integrated circuits. In late 2008 and early 2009 it launched a group that develops embedded multimedia systems. At the worldwide level, Intel is looking to increase its market share in the business of embedded environments.
