Technological scenarios
Promising technological scenarios to prioritize in the contributions to innovation made within the program.
The contributions made by students in the Master's Degree in Computer Systems in their Final Projects seek to generate three types of impact, depending on the type of project. There are projects that have an impact on the products, processes and services that companies offer. Other push the frontiers of knowledge by generating scientific and technology publications, in the form of book chapters, indexed articles and peer-reviewed conferences, as well as academic papers in general. Other contributions coming out of this program consist of cooperation with businesses to support innovation through industrial research, initiatives to increase competitive advantage, the incubation of technology-based companies or the creation and consolidation of innovation clusters.
According to the program's orientation, its underlying Lines of Generation and Application of Knowledge, the fields of knowledge it addresses, the courses it offers, and the technology-based companies that collaborate with the program, the promising technological scenarios on which the program's contributions seek to focus can be classified into three main categories: intelligence, data availability and service availability. All of these categories fall under the heading of high-performance systems designed to achieve maximum potential from a computational perspective, as well as efficient information management.
Intelligence refers to the use of efficient algorithms, usually based on mathematical models, that build reasoning into the systems, applications and/or services that are developed, leading to optimal results based on information management and analysis, or data science, using big data or otherwise.
Data availability refers to the collection of information and large volumes of data from a variety of available sensors, as well as to the appropriate and most efficient way to store them depending on their subsequent use, considering relational database techniques, non-structured databases – graphs, noSQL, plain text, semi-structured texts-, as well as the cloud, as storage options.
Finally, service availability refers to making the functions, services and/or applications available on the web, thus promoting their use through the wide array of existing web-connected personal devices. To achieve this, it is important to bear in mind the technological scenarios mentioned previously, in order to include topics of intelligence, big-data management and analysis, and cloud connectivity, with an eye to generating novel solutions and promoting the technological development of our country, especially in our region, known as the Mexican Silicon Valley.
