ITESO is a university of academic excellence, with a deep concern for the global and local environment and a commitment to improving people's living conditions.
Thanks to our work, the university has earned the recognition of national and international organizations. The Ministry of Public Education has twice granted ITESO the Recognition for Institutions of Higher Education with High-Quality Programs. We were also the first university in the state of Jalisco to be registered as an Institution of Academic Excellence.
ITESO University has more graduate programs recognized by the National Program of Quality Graduate Programs (PNPC, in its initials in Spanish) of the National Council of Science and Technology than any other private university in Western Mexico. ITESO currently has nine of its programs recognized in this Program: three PhDs, four Master's degree programs and two Specializations. Four of our graduate programs are in the PNPC in the modality of "University-Industry Graduate Programs", making ITESO the Institution with the most programs recognized in this modality in the state of Jalisco.

IITESO is a member of the National Association of Universities and Institutions of Higher Education (ANUIES, in its initials in Spanish), has been accredited by the Federation of Mexican Private Institutions of Higher Education (FIMPES), and belongs to the Mexican Society for the Dissemination of Science and Technology (Somedicyt).
In addition, the work of a number of our professors has merited them membership in the National System of Researchers (SNI, in its initials in Spanish).
