Juan Pablo Zataráin Hernández, M.S. (Coordinator)
Master's Degree in Quality Systems and Productivity. Graduate-level Specialization in Business Process Management from ITESO. Black belt certificate from the American Society for Quality. His undergraduate studies were in Electronic Engineering. He worked for 8 years as an adjunct professor at the undergraduate level, 6 years as the coordinator of the Industrial Engineering program and full-time professor, Professional Application Project (PAP) advisor and winner of the 2013 Pedro Arrupe Prize, 3 years as the coordinator of the Certificate Course in Materials Management and Logistics. He has extensive experience in in the automotive and electronics industries, in positions related to manufacturing, quality, customer service, warehousing and distribution, at companies such as ERICSSON, Chrysler (Engine Plant), Motorola, and Technicolor Mexicana. He has participated in international manufacture-transfer projects and quality systems.
Rogelio López Herrera, PhD
PhD in Chemical Engineering and Master's degree in Energy Engineering from the University of Illinois, Chicago. Member of the McNair Program, where he served as an advisor for several research projects. Master's degree in Quality, Mathematics, and Applied Statistics from the Rochester Technology Institute. Chemical Engineer from the University of Guanajuato. He has experience in the design and practical application of experiments, process quality control, continuous improvement and reliability. Experience in the electronics, automotive, pharmaceutical, film and plastic industries. He has worked in different areas of engineering, and as Technical Support Manager at Kodak Mexico, where he worked for 30 years. He is currently studying the Master's Degree in Philosophy and Social Sciences at ITESO.
Francisco Ernesto Navarrete Báez, PhD
PhD in Organizational and Human Development Sciences from UNIVA, Master's Degree in Systems from the UASLP, Industrial Engineer from the ITSLP. He is a member of the National System of Researchers (SNI, in its initials in Spanish), level 1. He has been guest professor at the University of Heidelberg in Germany and the Université du Quebec à Trois-Rivières, in Canada. He acted as project reviewer and evaluator for COECYTJAL, and as project evaluator for CONACYT. He has participated in the publication of five books, and has directed over 25 graduate-level dissertations. He has worked in companies such as Mexinox Steel, Mabe Industries, Cummins Motors, and HP Mexico. He has provided consulting services to over 70 micro, small and medium-sized companies.
Humberto Pérez Ortiz, PhD
PhD in Senior Management with a specialization in Business Process Optimization, and a Master's degree in Business Administration. He has acted as evaluator for the Jalisco Quality Award, and as Leading Auditor in Management Systems, with vast experience working for certification companies such as ISO 9001 and Integrated Systems. He is a Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt, has worked for transnational service and manufacturing companies, and has led Business Process Management (BPM) strategies, aligning objectives, operations and technology in organizations.
Jesús Eladio Sánchez García, PhD
PhD in Mathematical Sciences with a specialization in Statistics (Cuban Academy of Science and the GDR). He has participated in many research projects that led to over 40 publications in Cuban and other national and international journals. He has participated in over 30 scientific conferences. He has several distinctions and scientific awards in Cuba, including the prestigious Carlos J. Finlay medal for his overall scientific work.
Ignacio Álvarez Placencia
Executive with 27 years of experience in Supply Chain Management, Manufacturing Purchasing, and Indirect Goods and Services, fields in which he has held 8 regional management positions at the Latin American level. Known for achieving both short- and long-term results due to skillful Supply Chain management, strategic discipline, and the creation of high-performance work teams. Founding member of the Lean Thinking Solutions Institute in Mexico, accredited by the Lean Enterprise Institute, whose founder is James P. Womack. Industrial Engineer from the Universidad de las Américas, Certified Black Belt from the Eastman Kodak Company, and MBA from Central Michigan University. Professor in Supply Chain Management, Six Sigma and Lean Philosophy at the graduate level.
Juan José Calzada López
Master's degree in Quality Engineering from ITESO, and a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Electrical Engineering from the Universidad Iberoamericana, Mexico City. He has a Six Sigma Black Belt (HP), and is currently studying for a Master's Degree in Education and Knowledge Management at ITESO. Seventeen years of professional experience designing, implementing, improving and leading Quality Management Systems at global companies in the areas of technology, petrochemicals and outsourcing. Four years of professional experience in consulting for SME's. He currently works at HP as Quality Manager in the Commercial Area for North America. He has taught at ITESO for over 12 years. Professor in the Master's Degree program in Quality Engineering and Management.
Gaspar Antonio Giannuzzi Ponce
Master's degree in Cellulose and Paper Sciences from the University of Guadalajara, with a scholarship from the German government (DAAD). University professor at the undergraduate and graduate levels in the areas of Quality Control with certification in the case-study technique from ITESM. Since 1992 he has worked as a consultant in the field of Quality Engineering for companies such as Tracsa, Casa Cuervo, Siemens, Cervecería Cuauhtémoc, Aralmex, and Sachs Boge of Mexico, among others.
Ricardo Ramirez Herrmann
Innovation and Continuous Improvement Manager for the Americas at the HP Department of Finances, Global Service Center. 25 years of experience in the industry, in both engineering and management positions in areas such as: testing, reliability, process improvement, and innovation. Master's degree in Quality Engineering from ITESO and Bachelor's degree in Electronic and Computer Engineering from CETI. Certified by the ASQ as a Quality and Operational Excellence Manager and Reliability Engineer. Certified as Project Management Professional (PMP) by the PMI.
José Pablo Torres Morán
Master's degree in Rainfed Area Management, and Bachelor's degree in Agricultural Engineering, both from the University of Guadalajara. Co-author of several publications in indexed journals on behalf of CONACYT. Technical reviewer of Dr. Mario Triola's book "Statistics", 11th edition, Pearson Publishing. Professor and researcher at the University of Guadalajara, ITESO, and TecMilenio, in the area of applied statistics at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Thesis director and advisor for several undergraduate and graduate dissertations.
Rafael Velázquez Atilano, MS
Industrial Engineer with a Master's degree in Global Marketing from ITESO, and a specialist in storage systems. He has experience in various industries, including electronics, food supplements, optics, and flexography. He also has experience in project management and the design of business models, strategic management, brand registration, computer-aided drafting, and quality systems.
Guillermo Villarruel Ulloa
Guillermo has 18 years of experience an an industry executive, specializing in quality systems, supplier quality, manufacturing processes for automotive applications such as electronic assemblies and testing, plastic injection, and metal mechanical parts. With a focus on results and working with aggressive key performance indicators, he has both managerial and executive skills. Bachelor's degree in Instrumentation and Control Engineering from the Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara, and a Master's degree in Quality Engineering from the Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Occidente. He currently works as a Quality Director at Continental Automotive Guadalajara and teaches courses in Quality Management at ITESO.
