Doctor y maestro en Ciencias de la Ingeniería Eléctrica por el Centro de Investigación de Estudios Avanzados (CINVESTAV), unidad Guadalajara. Ingeniero de Control por la Universidad Nacional de Colombia, sede Medellín. En el ITESO labora desde 2015 como profesor en el Departamento de Matemáticas y Física. Es coordinador de la Unidad Académica Básica de Matemáticas para Finanzas e imparte las asignaturas de Finanzas Cuantitativas, Cálculo Integral, Evaluación de proyectos de capital de riesgo y simulación de riesgos y coberturas.
